Filmmaker Tahira Kashyap, the wife of actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana, penned an emotional note on Instagram revealing a relapse of her breast cancer, years after she underwent a mastectomy in 2018.
In the post, the 42-year-old wrote, "Seven year itch or the power of regular screening- it's a perspective, I had like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me...I still got this."
Kashyap captioned the post, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When life becomes too generous and throws them again at you, you squeeze them calmly into your favourite kala khatta drink and sip it with all the good intentions. Because for one it’s a better drink and two you know you will give it your best once again."
Kashyap concluded by highlighting her "ironic" announcement on World Health Day, and urged people to take care of themselves.
On occasion of World Cancer Day this year, ANI quoted Kashyap talking about the importance of treatments that is not is not too heavy on the pocket, adding that coupled with early diagnosis, it can offer a high chance of survival. "Cancer is a journey that tests your strength, resilience, and faith... Let's continue to support one another and raise awareness about early breast cancer detection because together, we can beat cancer," the mother-of-two said.

Kashyap made her directorial debut in 2024 with comical drama film Sharmajee Ki Beti, starring Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, Saiyami Kher, Parvin Dabas, and Sharib Hashmi.
